I was raised in a fundamentalist religion.
Left the church, got married, got divorced, and ran away to Africa. Spent 11 years in Kenya. Worked in sales for a global brand. Coached female entrepreneurs from grassroots to C-suite level. Adopted my daughter. Drank, partied, then got sober. Once fell down the stairs in front of a regiment of South Sudanese soldiers. (Surprisingly, not alcohol related!) Came home to New Hampshire, met the one, built a life together, then lost him to a relapse and fatal fentanyl overdose. Made meaning from my loss. Shifted my coaching and teaching focus to helping people develop the capacity to manage stress, overwhelm, trauma and addiction. Rebuilt a thriving life on a foundation of my own nervous system capacity. Haven't fallen down the stairs in front of anyone lately. |
